Terms of Service

01The service

ITDev Registry issues free subdomains under itdev.eu.cc and provides a DNS management interface for them. The service is provided as-is, at no cost, and with no service level agreement.

We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the service at any time. Where a change affects issued subdomains we will make reasonable efforts to give notice, but we cannot guarantee it.

02Eligibility and accounts

• You must be old enough to enter a binding agreement in your jurisdiction.
• You must provide a working email address and keep your credentials secure.
• You must connect and verify a GitHub account before a subdomain is issued. That GitHub account may be linked to only one account on this platform.
• You are responsible for everything that happens under your account, including anything served from your subdomains.
• One person or organisation should not operate multiple accounts to obtain additional subdomains.

03What you receive

• A licence to use up to the configured number of subdomains — two by default — for as long as you comply with these terms.
• The ability to create DNS records of the supported types under your own subdomain, up to the configured per-subdomain limit.
• No ownership of the subdomain itself. It remains part of a domain we control and is licensed to you, not sold or transferred.

04Unsupported record types

MX records are not available: this platform does not provide mail hosting, and mail infrastructure on a shared free namespace attracts abuse we cannot police.

NS records are not available: delegating a subtree to an external nameserver would place records outside our validation and would let a user bypass every restriction in these terms.

05Your responsibilities

• Comply with the Acceptable Use Policy at all times.
• Comply with all applicable laws in your jurisdiction and in the jurisdictions of your visitors.
• Keep the content reachable from your subdomain lawful, and hold any licences it requires.
• Respond to abuse notices we forward to you.
• Do not attempt to circumvent platform limits, validation or rate limiting.

06Suspension, release and termination

We may suspend a subdomain immediately, without prior notice, where we have a reasonable belief that it is being used for phishing, malware distribution, or any other activity prohibited by the Acceptable Use Policy. Suspension removes the DNS records, so the subdomain stops resolving.

A suspended subdomain continues to occupy one of your registration slots until an administrator releases it. You may appeal a suspension through the support channel.

You may release a subdomain yourself at any time. Releasing deletes its DNS records immediately and frees the slot. The name itself is retired rather than reissued, because handing a previously-used name to somebody else would expose visitors of the earlier site to a takeover.

We may terminate an account that repeatedly or seriously breaches these terms.

07Availability and data

DNS is served by Cloudflare and is highly reliable in practice, but this is a free service with no uptime guarantee, no backup guarantee for your configuration, and no compensation for downtime.

Keep your own record of your DNS configuration if it matters to you. We do not guarantee that deleted records can be recovered.

08Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, nor for loss of profit, revenue, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the service. Because the service is free, our aggregate liability to you is limited to nothing beyond ceasing to provide the service.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

09Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page always reflects the current version. Material changes will be communicated to the email address on your account where we reasonably can, and continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
